Giggle fishing
Just got off the lake with Andrew, David, Bill and I.
We went for a little giggle fishing, you know, trout? There are some brooders in the lake too, but we just wanted the giggles.
We put in Cape Meares lake, (sp?) which reportedly just got 12,500 fish dumped in there.
We did the team thing, Bill and Andrew against David and I. They slaughtered us.
I swear, anyone have a tournament and need a lucky rod sitter, I'll rent Andrew out.
He's fished twice for Chinook in the last year and is 4 for 4.
First we trolled little brass inline spinners with rudder weights above, and Andrew barely got his line in the water and GIGGLE! Fish on!
He waterskiied it across the water toward the boat, and proceeded to copy that action all day long.
Then we anchored up and tried bobbers and worms. Me, being the DIFFERENT type, tried it on the bottom, but it wasn't long before I was jealous of there action and also threading a thill on my line.
It was a wonderful day. Bill and Andrew just knocked em. I was busy most of the time untangling awful line messes and removing hooks from nets.
We returned most of them, but have a dandy gift for some nice family at church tomorrow.
They just love it when I bring fish to church!
Anyway, try it sometime... Give the chinook a rest, give yourself a rest! Take the family out for a day on the lake. We laughed till we dropped! Talked, visted, told silly jokes. Andrew made up rediculous stories that went on and on. He is such a character!
There is no better way to spend time with your kids than out on the water.
David and Andrew both got to run the boat. It was hillarious! David did what I did the first time Bill told me to take over the boat. I grabbed the steering wheel and was shocked that it wasn't responding! DUH! The jet wasn't on, the trolling motor was! David's face was so shocked as he headed for shore, struggling with the wheel, and getting closer and closer with no control! I was laughing so hard at his serious concern.
I had a splendid day!
---and now.... I can go out for Chinook later this week and feel not one touch of guilt! I took them fishing... Now it's my turn!
WATCH OUT YOU BIG FISHIES....
Jen
