That's a lot of motor for a 19 year old.
Hope he has the brains and maturity to take care of it.

Sweet ride!

That is one nice looking Jeep. I had a 75 CJ5 with a 401 in it I gave it to my son when he graduated High School because he loved it so much. My son and I had rebuilt the thing together since he was in the 8th grade. He is now 24 and still has that thing but doesn't drive it. He keeps it in running condition and won't let it go I think because of the memories. It sits next to my shop and he comes by to visit all the time and checks on it he starts it every couple weeks. I ask him why don't you get rid of that thing if you are not going to drive it? He just smiles and never says a word.

I think that's the nicest/cleanest Jeep I have ever seen. It's even the right color.

I know what you are saying I just got my first TJ after building a couple of XJs. It is my first short Jeep and I really like it so far. It will be a DD so it will be pretty tame.

How much work was that plug and play hemi to get in there? I have been considering one for my truck, bought it the year before the hemi came out!!! Its either a hemi or a 408 stroker!

I set up the running gear, axles, drivelines transfer case, all were made to I ton specs. I placed in a BE COOL radiator, set up the mounting for the Transmission, I took out everything, Engine, tranny, ECU etc. Then I took it down to a place that has connections with Chrysler, and they Replaced everything with a Beefed up 5 speed Crysler Auto transmission a new Crysler ECU and the Hemi engine, this was all done because Chrysler now will warrenty it for 3 years....When everything is done It looks like it came right off the assembly line. You dont have to go with a Hemi, I know of 2 fellas that went with the Corvette LT1..same installation, General Motors will warrenty it for the same amount of time.

I was seriously thinking of putting in a Ford Mustang engine out of wrecked 05 GT but I went this route, Just to save my self a headache, that I had enquired before when doing these things to other rigs I have owned.

Wow that is one sweet jeep. I had a buddy in highschool who had one with a 351w in it. The thing would pop wheelies and go through cluches like you wouldnt belive. He had a 4 speed. I now have a beater dodge with a new 360 4-speed in the drive way and thinking about doing a swap into a jeep. I would like a CJ-5. Oh, to have the time to do it. Do you have any web sites that would show this kind of thing? I have looked around and it seems most everyone puts chev 350's into the jeeps.

Thanks for the help in advance, bignate

Oh and again SWEET JEEP
