Mattress commercials drive me nuts !!!!!!

I am sick of mattress commercials How many times in a day do you hear or see a Mattress World or Sleep Country commercial? Last night watching TV in 2 hours I seen it 6 times. I want to throw 5 galons of water on that sleeping kid so bad. And last thing i want to see is christmas in July! I will never buy anything from these stores. OK i feel a little better now

I'm with you. It must be quite the lucrative business. What I don't get is why would I want to wake up hungry every two hours? I mean, last I checked that's how most babies sleep.

I can't stand them either. Have you ever noticed that the lady in the Mattress World commercials at the end says, "our hard to find locations." I don't know about anyone else, but they don't seem that hard to find.

We all know that it's evey weekend idiots. We can't change the channel without seeing your commercial. .

If it makes you feel any better, I was actually kicked out of Mattress World a while back. My girlfriend told one of their pushy salespeople to back off, then we made fun of the pubescent manager.
Every time I see one of their commercials I have to laugh, remembering that pencil-neck geek getting his panties in a bind and yelling at us to leave before he called the cops.
First time I've been kicked out of anywhere that wasn't a bar or a woman's house.

The commercials and sales pressure convince me that Costco is the only place to buy a mattress.

Not neccessarily...there is Mattress Factory Outlet next to Ross and the Westfield (Vancouver) Mall. (Shameless plug for an ex-employer ) I believe they only have a radio commercial on AM-radio, and possibly a country station.

I know for a fact that those commercials run thousands of $$$

The mark up on a mattress set is like 2000%
That $1200 bed you just bought was probably $240 or so for the dealer

I don't doubt that for a second. Furniture, as a rule, has huge markups.
Just like jewelry. Mark it up 1000%, then mark it down 500% and call it a "sale".

Thank goodness I'm not the only one comlpetely annoyed with those commercials!

Remember this. They wouldn't "saturate advertise" (carpet bombing) like they do if there wasn't an economic benefit.

I make it a point to vote with my fingers. Every time one of these commercials comes either TV or the radio I just change the station. I might change it back in a day or two.....or when another mattress commercial comes on

Oh man - my kids are absolutely facinated with these comercials. I don't know if its the jingle, or the sleeping kid. But every time it comes on my 1.5 year old drops whatever she's doing and is immediately entranced for the next 30 seconds. My oldest was the same way at that age.

Just like computers, the manufactures never sells the same product to two retail outlets in the same area....these commercials must be targeting the most gullible folks in the market place.
