Default Mini 14 replacement stalk

I have a Mini 14, serial number dated around 1982. It was my Uncle’s, and it has this offal aftermarket folding stock. The folding butt has been broken for years, and I just hot glued it in place so I could shoot it. Anway, I took it out the other day and thought about fixing that thing up.

The first thing it needs (besides a one piece standard stalk) is an OEM magazine. I have one of those cheep knock-off 30 round mags. The thing jams every 2 rounds… but anyway.

My question is, will any factory Mini 14 stalk fit an older model (182-XXXXX)? Or do I need to start hitting the gun shows and hope I can find an older stalk.

It’s kind of a cool old gun. Has the bayonet fitting, flash suppressor. Has some pitting, but I think I can fix it up.

Thanks!

Default Re: Mini 14 replacement stalk

Most stocks are made for prefix series "181" and greater so you shouldn't have a problem. I would check MidwayUSA, Numrich Gun Parts and Ebay for stocks. BTW, any Mini-14 or Mini-30 stock will work as they are the same.
