Default Sturgeon this weekend?

We have had our new boat for two weeks and want to get out again this weekend. Not really interested in the Willamette show on the weekend. I'll take a day off during the week for that. Thought about going down to the coast and doing some crabbing and jetty fishing, but the wife mentioned that she caught her first chinook last weekend, how about trying to get her first sturgeon this weekend.
99% of the discussion has been focused on springers lately. Is there much of a sturgeon bite happening right now? I have only fished for sturgeon twice and that was down at Astoria with a friend a few years back. Any suggestions as where to go? Any other pointers would be appreciated.

Thanks,

A buddy and I went out to T6 yesterday afternoon and had lots of action, but no keepers. All of the sturgeon that we caught seemed to be about the same size, 36". Once the wind died down, they really seemed to bite. You sould be able to catch sturgeon, but I don't know if you will find many keepers. Good Luck!
