Fishing near Bend/Sisters????

I'm going to Bend friday through the weekend and i would love to throw a line in someplace. I have trout,fly,steelhead pole anyplace I should try???

I'll be up there too! Many spots are still closed.

I'm thinking Fall River (near the hatchery), Crooked River (below the Dam/Prinville res), Deschutes between Benham Falls and Bend.

Fly fishing - trout.

North Twin Lake (by Wickiup) is also open, and I think Davis Lake is open.

Any new reports from Crooked River? Is the BWO still the way to go, tiny midges and whatever ?

Last time at Fall River success came on some caddis emergers (#8) fished like streamers on sinking line WAY downstream.

Fall River near the hatchery is good. They, the hatchery, have started to plant the river again and they now plant holdovers 10 per week. These fish average 15 inches and run 1-1.5 lbs. BWO are still the main hatch (noon to 3), but lots of midges too. The BWO are big right now-size 16.

I saw two salmonflies today - - in Salem!

I have seen a few large stone flies along the Deschutes in town. I don't think they are Salmon flies...too small.
