Does anyone know if the Channel is still open for fishing springers. If so, how far down the lower channel before your in the Columbia technically.

Oregon lists Multnomah Channel as part of the Willamette Zone and include it in the Willamette River regulations. Fish on!

Thanks Pete,

I couldn't find my regs. I may have to pick another up. Do you know if trolling hearing vs. plugs is more productive on the lower channel. I have not had much success in the channel myself, but I gotta fish somewhere.

Karen I heard orange kwikfish were doing well. Bait of choice is prawns, eggs and herring(smaller the better) in that order. Good luck and if you have a open seat let me know. :-)

I used a size 13 hot pink kwikfish and did well in the upper end of the channel.

Just got a new boat and wanted to know where to put in on the Multnomah Channel. Hope the Columbia re-opens. Thanks for any info.

Fred's Marina is at the head of the channel.

Brown Landing is about the middle of the
channel.

The new boat ramp at Scapoose is at the
end of the channel.

Once again a wealth of knowledge. Thanks everyone for the feedback.

Is everyone trolling. I haven't heard of to many ancor fishing the channel. Any successes out there with fishing the outgoing.

I have been putting in at St. Helens myself. There is the newer ramp and marine on the east side of town and a smaller ramp down by the old courthouse. Both are quick access to the lower channel. Watch the hole on the left side of the ramp during low tide. I've been watching the circus of guys trying to load with a wheel in the hole. It takes them a couple tries before they figure out the right side is the place to load. Left side is OK to unload.

Fish on and on and on.
