Default Help with Downrigger on Odell and Crescent

I am trying to get rigged up for fishing for Macs and Kokanee for the first time. How much weight do you use on the downriggers? I have heard either 10 or 12 pounds. Does it matter which weight or is one better than the other. Has anyone used those mullet shaped weights??

Anything else you can think of to help a newbe would be appreciated

Thanks for the help

It depends on depth and speed. For a slow troll in 60ft I like an 8lb round At 100ft a 10lb round also use the 10lber for fast trolling. Don't normally use 12. The pancake weights are great if your not on the bottom. They seem to wedge in the rocks a lot better than the rounds, at least thats been my experience.

If I only can afford one weight, would the 10 lb weight be a good all around weight?
