Remington 870 wingmaster age question
I was hoping one of you gun guys could help. I tried to call Remington but they are closed today. I would like to know the age of the gun before sunday if possible. The serial # is 432???V. It is a plain stock and the pump is round. I can't get pictures of it until I get home. I think its an 870ap based on what I could find on the internet. It looks like the top one in the ad. If you know the value that would be great too. Thanks, Tom

Re: Remington 870 wingmaster age question
on the left side of the barrel in front of the reciever are some letters, give them to me and i'll look up it's manufature date. value is about the same as a new 870 express if it is a 3" gun with a modified or imp cyl barrel less with a full choke 2 3/4". low $140 high $250 odds are it's worth about $165/$180

Re: Remington 870 wingmaster age question
Here are the pictures. The letters on the left on the barrel look like EBM. They are stamped in under the word full. On the right side of the barrel it is stamped REP. I have no history on this gun so I don't know if the barrel is stock. There are patent #'s too if that will help. Thanks again, Tom

Re: Remington 870 wingmaster age question
I had to do that last year. I e-mailed Remington(there's a place on their site to click on) with the serial #. I think they got back to me in about 2-3 days. Even with the serial # they were only able to place my gun between 1971-73".

Re: Remington 870 wingmaster age question
the date is in the barrel code, not the serial number. of course with shotgun barrels being changable, it dates the barrel. but this shot gun pictured is of that vintage

Re: Remington 870 wingmaster age question
Dang Baltz, that was quick.
You can nail it down that precisely? Lesse', I have REP enclosed in an oval with an "L" after it. RIGHT side of the barrel. Left side is a stamp that looks like a "V" with another point in the middle and K and W stamped next to it. And the number 60 after that. Full choke 2&3/4". Thanks, if you have time.
