Merwin Report Tuesday

[No Wishin Just Fishin]

Spring Break so took the neighbor kid to Merwin. In talking to the other boats it was very slow today and a little breezy. We fished omy usual haunts and managed to pick up 3 fish, two of the nicer variety. All were with downriggers 55 feet to 70 feet. Flourescent blades on the flashers and red skeleton on the wedding rings with corn. I told Him it is early and it will get better in a month or so. Three boats at the ramp with no fish, although one said they lost 2.

NIce work No wishin. It is always good to take a kid fishing, especiall when you actually can get into some fish. he will remember that for a long time. Thanks. May be headed up there Friday and sunday depends if springers show or not. How murky was it up there??? And did you get a water temp??? Thanks!

Thanks for the report. Did you throw the tackle box at them or just stick with your all time favorites? Sounds like you were the man that day so I guess you had the right stuff. Great Job!

I was there Sunday and marked fish in the same depth range and gave it a go for an hour on the downrigger. I know they're there but the fish didn't seem to like my offerings for whatever reason. Flatlining willow leaf flashers and a homemade spinner/corn caught a couple for me. I would rather catch them on the downrigger though so I can break away from the flashers and feel the fish.
