Microsoft Releases Urgent Emergency Security Update Today ( 4-3-07)
A new computer virus is currently rapidly spreading that exploits yet another new security hole that has been found in Microsoft's popular Internet Explorer software.
Microsoft has thus decided to release an emergency security patch today to address this issue. If you have Automatic Updates enabled on your computer, it should automatically download today. If not, go to Windows Update, and use it to update your PC.
Here is a news story about the situation with full technical details:
http://blogs.zdnet.com/Burnette/?p=285
And you can run Windows Update manually by going here:

The update server is running a little slow today, due to so many people updating. So be patient in downloading it.

Vista is still a Microsoft product isn't it... If there is a will, there will be a way when it comes to hackers. Thank goodness airplanes don't operate on the windows operating system...

Yes, the Marketing Department has been telling us that for a long time now.

I'm still chugging along with dial-up and Windows 98'.
I'm buying a MAC very soon. Tired of viruses and the BSOD(Blue screen of death).
Sorry Bill, Steve may very well be your undoing, someday. Maybe.
Probably not but...
We all can hope...

Microsoft has dropped all support for Windows 98 users. So you are getting no help from them in fixing security issues like this.
But by switching to a Mac, you are basically going to be able to totally stop worrying about security issues like this one.

Wow. I haven't seen that since XP came out.
Good Lord I used to hate that.

Not that it matters since you have already made the choice to switch to Mac but BSODs are almost always caused by third party drivers not by MSFT. The reason this quit with XP is MSFT put safety stuff in their OS to catch when other software's drivers fail and to not allow them to crash the OS. I may not like MSFT much but I can't stand when people blame BSODs on MSFT. Take a look at the stack dump from the crash and you will find nearly 99.99999% of the time it was a third party driver doing something it wasn't supposed to but it did it anyway.

Yep, Cornbread is 100% spot on. BSODs are not Window's fault, but mostly something trying to operate outside of it's allowed resources... Typically a hardware driver.
And for those stating that Mac is virus proof, you are very mis-informed. It's not Mac's design that keeps them from getting in the headlines with viruses, it's thier relative un-popularity as compared to PCs. If the market share was a little more even, you see just as many issues with Macs. It's simple, if you're a hacker looking to cause havoc, do you write the virus to destroy 90% of computers out there, or just 10%? As people shift, you'll see the hackers shift as well...

I read an article today that MS also has a patch for an exploit fix to the ANI. files that allow hackers to track key strokes
