Marlin Fishing in Mazatlan

We were on a cruise to Mexico during Spring Break and were able to book a 3/4 day trip fishing for Marlin on the Betsy. It is a 36 footer with captain Ricardo and a deckhand.

We went out 32 miles and did see 1 Marlin but didn't hook up. It was exciting. The captain worked hard but wasn't able to get us into a fish. The whole fleet that day only got 1 Marlin and 2 sailfish.

We weren't able to leave the dock until 8:45 because of our cruise ship time so we could not get out to the blue water which was about 45 miles out. We did see about 50 dolphins that were right next to the boat and about 10 whales. We also saw about a 10 foot bull shark that we tried to hook up but he didn't bite! Also saw many giant sea turtles. We had a great time even though no fish hooked.

Iam seprised he didnt get you some yellow fin out of those dolphins. we saw the dolphins in october the deckhand emediatly switched to smaller jigs nand we trolled right through the middle of the dolphin and lets just say the next twenty minutes was some of the fastest action I have ever had on the salt .
