Default Any spring Bear Hunting Sucess?

Did anyone have any luck spring bear hunting yet? I spent about 4 hours stomping around in the woods and saw nothing but a nice sized track in the mud. I got wind of some bears being seen, but have any been harvested yet by ifishers?

A buddy of mine took his girlfriend out this morning to a unit they've been seeing one in. They showed up, saw the bear, snuck to under 200 yards, and she missed it. I'll go look around a bit when things warm up more.

The weather was only fair...Kinda cold and windy Sunday...Monday was better, but the only bears we spotted was on Sunday...

Had fun watching for 20 minutes or so until they caught our wind..

That is a neat picture, I like the lowest bear standing on top of the stump. I am just counting down the days till the season starts here.

I saw two different bears over the weekend.. One real nice bear that was a good distance off. They are starting to move decent down here. Need some more sunshine...

Cool pictures! Isnt that another cub trying to climb the lower stump?

Is it too early to make a trip east to Cathrine creek area? I heard it was 19 degrees a couple nights ago and a skif of fresh snow at valley level a couple days ago. I was wanting to go this weekend but feels like it may be too soon.

Hey Rich,

You just keep checking in...We are going to "gettem" allright...

That was a small sow...Sometimes it was hard to tell which was which....I doubt she weighed a hundred pounds...

I would say that the eastern hunts are at least a couple weeks out...I think most wait until May and good weather before making the trip...

I figure this one was a boar cub...Kinda hard to tell from the pic,but he was sitting on his butt scratching his you know what..

For you guys that seen our hunts from last year, this is Quinn...He has successfully completed his hunter safety and Sunday was his first big game hunt ever...We took the bullets from his gun and had him find a good shooting position and practice sight picture and squeeze...Much better practice than targets...The adreneline was up with bear in the scope....Now when a better bear shows up,he will know what it feels like to see a bear in the scope and make a good shot..

Thats his dad doing the coaching...

Went out for the afternoon hunt and spotted what I figure to be a pretty good sow...Not good enough though...

She never did know I was there an I watched her for quite a while... I am going to start getting serious this weekend..

Nice pictures Bill...no bear sightings for me yet, except for a picture of a pretty small boar a girl (Emma) upstairs here at work shot on last Saturday evening. We did get into some elk on Saturday afternoon though.
