Default Those of you that have Comcast....<<<<<

If you currently have Comcast Internet and you have not reset your modem in the last 3 days you should do so..... Comcast's true powerboost has officially kicked in....If you are paying for the 6mb tier your speeds now will be the following.....12mb download and 1.5mb upload...if you are paying for the 8mg speed tier your speeds now are 15mb download and 3mb upload....I am a comcast employee so I am aware...So if you have not reset your modems please do so.....

Enjoy...

Look on your modem box, and hit the turn off or reset button, then turn it back on, and when you have all your lights on, your modem is back up and running!

Much thanks for the heads up Chrome Obession!!!

Depending which one you have it should have a small hole on the back that say reset. Put the tip of a pen or pencil in and push.

Do the EMTA modems need to be reset as well? I know the standard cable data modems do, but not sure about the EMTAs.

Thanks

Power down and unplug it for about 30 seconds and plug it back in.

I believe this only takes place in the Portland market....So if you live out of the Portland metro area this may not involve you...If your curious for your speeds go to www.speakeasy.net/speedtest ....Keep in mind your computer and connections all play a role in how fast your speeds are....

I just did the test, and thanks for the link, the results are down 4235kb and up is 369kb. Being on Comcast cable are these results great, good, normal or am I getting ripped off?

Seafood Man
I did the same test yesterday and came up with the almost exactly the same numbers up and down. I live in Beaverton so for the distance and density difference I'd say thats pretty consistent. (for one test anyway)

It could be that Comcast owns the site and tells all comcast customers what they want to hear.

And how do we really know that these guys who say they are Comcast employee's really are?
Maybe "chrome obsession", but who is this "Small Fry" guy anyway. Could be plants by Verizon.

I think I'll find another speed test to try.

On that site I get 7982 down and 1047 up from Seattle. On another site I get 4688 down and 1057 up from New Jersey. You can use this site to find different speed tests:

I pay for the highest tier and I'm only getting 10 down 1 up consistently. So much for the 15 and 3
