Default Wanted: Swim Ladder

Looking for a aluminum swim ladder similiar to the ones that are welded on the Custom Weld boats. Does anyone know where I can get one? I called Motion Marine and Duckworth; both m were very nice over the phone, but very expensive. Thanks

Are you looking for just the flip-up step or a full platform / ladder? I recently bought a flip-up step that welds to my offshore bracket. Clemens had one available that I think was from CustomWeld, but I ended up ordering one from Idaho Boats through Browns landing because it is a couple of inches longer. Cost was about $200.

Thanks for the reply. To be honest I'm not sure which model will work best. I've got a 1991 Duckworth Magnum with a Berkley jet. Every year the boat seems to get higher - I can't figure it out. I saw a Custom Weld with a swim ladder but it was attached to the swim step. I don't have a swim step, only the swim platform, similiar to your offshore bracket. Duckworth wants $180.00 for their aftermarket. It just seems like a lot of money for something that I'm not sure will work.

Shaved Fish,

What about something like what 98ramtough added to his boat? Just the ladder part attached to your existing swim platform.

I added a similar swim step to the back of my Alumaweld except I also added a grab bar down the side for support. I was shocked  when I got the cost estimate, however the first time I watched my 10 year old climb out of the water without any problems it was worth every penny. No more bruised knees.

Fishon - thanks for the pics. I email Idaho Boats about their version, but didn't get a reply. I'll call them and let you know how it goes. Yours looks real nice. Thanks for the input. SF

My boat came with a Armstrong Nautical ladder. Thats the same company that makes the outboard brackets and deck hatches that came on my boat. Good quality stuff.
