Is this a good elk shed?
I thought about picking it up... I was tooling along Highway 26 and stumbled across this elk shed yesterday afternoon.
First, I took a trip down to Jewell and snapped some photos of the wintering elk. 44 bulls in one group; some had already dropped their antlers as you can see in the photo

Re: Is this a good elk shed?
I thought about picking them up but, who wants to lug 25 pounds of bone around with you? Plus I'd just toss them in the pile with all the others.
I think I may have taken a gps reading when I was out there.
GPS Coordinates:
Latitude: 45.51930000000
Longitude: -122.566908000

Now that would be a complete and utter waste of time, money and effort.

Re: Is this a good elk shed?
OK, OK... I'll break the news of how you can get close to these sheds and it will only cost you $9.75 per adult and $6.75 for a child 11 an under.
Portland Zoo.
I walked around the corner and saw those sheds on the ground near a sign. Believe me I looked at every hot electrical fence and wondered why in the world someone would throw down a pair of sheds that would easily score over 400 inches!!!!
My cynical side kicked in as I took the photos and figured I could generate a good laugh, and possible a black eye or two....

And to think those 400 class monsters are not even close to what that bull was like in his prime. the gazebo there has a rack that would be upper 400's

Re: Is this a good elk shed?
Beardbuster, thats too funny!!! When I looked at the pic last night I knew exactly where it was, I brought my friend and his family there yesterday and we where admiring that shed. When we looked at this pic my buddy from South dakota says " hey thats the zoo shed" . I figured you were up to something. Good one.
