Posting Pics Hosted on non-IFish Server?
I thought I'd save IFish some disk space by letting the Gmail server store my pics.
However I've played around and can't get the sample pic to display properly.
I either end up with a live link but no pic, like this:

Or the 'red box of failure' like this:

Any ideas?

Re: Posting Pics Hosted on non-IFish Server?
Gary..I clicked on your link....then I right clicked your picture, scrolled to properties and click.
then "highlight" all of the url..make sure you get to the end with the ".jpg" Start the copy from the http end and slide to the right to expose the rest of the code
click "copy"
go to make a post on ifish
in the tool bar is a yellow square like a disk, click it
paste the url from the pic into the box and submit
preview post....Viola!

gary-
Not sure what your link problem is but I clicked on the link in your first post and it took me to your gallery.
Wow! Nice, looks like my kind of place. Beautiful beaches and good looking roosters

Once again...
Pretty weird. I see the pic in the composition screen, but not in this final display screen?

Yeah, I was hoping to share it with pics in a post.
I could load the pics onto IFish, simple, but again I was trying to conserve Jennie's server space.

Re: Posting Pics Hosted on non-IFish Server?
Since Jennie is offering unlimited picture hosting, I'm not sure why you'd want to load to another site. I store my photos both on Ifish and on my own ISP. It's easy to link either. I'm not sure what Google does to make it not work.

Re: Posting Pics Hosted on non-IFish Server?
garyk...I've been using photobucket to store my pics for several years. Just hilite the "img code" under your pic at photobucket, copy it and paste it in your post here at ifish. No charge to use it. Right now I have about 450 photos stored there.

Re: Posting Pics Hosted on non-IFish Server?
If you don't want to use Ifish, use photobucket. They give you the UBB code for the pic and you can just copy it and paste it into the body of your message.
Pete - I use photobucket so that I can ref the pic in on different sites (since it gives me both the UBB/img code and html it's kinda handy). I know you can do that here too, but I assume that reffin a pic hosted on ifish uses bandwidth unnecessarily.

Re: Posting Pics Hosted on non-IFish Server?
Maybe I'll see if the Google guys can 'splain what's going wrong?
I've had Photobucket access since the site came online....I'm just playing with the Google photo service since they allow you 1Gig of space, and it's a feature of my Gmail account (which by the way may be the best free email service out there).
Again, it's really strange that I can see the pic correctly in this site's composition screen, but when you take the final step and 'post', no pic?
