Default sportshow and bad news

Went to the show yesterday and had a great time. Got to meet Jen & a couple of other Ifishers. Picked up Ifish stickers, hats, etc. Also got an Ifish sticker placed on the back of my jacket by Jen for all the people to see as i made the rounds through the show. It was a good day! Got home about 9pm and had a message on the phone,it was my sister telling me that my brother-in-law had died due to heart failure while driving home from the lumber yard. This was the man who took me on my first sturg. trip, salmon trip, steelhead trip, crab, clams, elk, deer, duck hunts and many other adventures. I will miss him. Been awake since 3am and on the puter reading reports. Being able to take my mind off the bad stuff has really helped. I needed to vent somewhere, THANKS for listening. jr sherwood

Sorry for your loss, man - prayers for all on that front. I remember the pain of losing my grandfather many years ago - he's the one that took me fishing for the very first time in my life. Believe me when I say that I understand.

Jr., keep your chin up friend. He sounds like a great man and I'm sure you're no different. Honor him by taking others under your wing and teaching them the things you've learned.

Hang in there and comfort your sister as best you can.

Take care,

Rod

My condolences, to you and, especially, to your sister. Her loss is especially difficult and there are sure to be some difficult moments for you as well.

Finnman had the right idea, however. I've been to several memorial services and funerals in which the entire assembled congregation smiled in recollection of some of the great times they'd had with the recently departed individual. Shows that his life wasn't wasted.
