10\'6" Bobber / Jig Rod
does anybody have a 10 1/2 ft. casting rod they would be willing to sell, or know where i might be able to pick one up at a reasonable price?

Look at Cabela's Shimano Convergence. I have one, and it's great. They aren't too expensive, if I remember correctly, either.
I also have a St. Croix Wild River, but it was much more expensive.

Re: 10\'6" Bobber / Jig Rod
I think you can get that shimano con rod 10'6" rated for 1oz for around $69 G.I. Joes or Fishermans. It also comes in an 10'6" 8oz model that a friend uses plunking steelies same price.
I picked up an OKUMA 8 to 12 10'6" that I am using for bobber and jigs. 3/4oz rated west coast float, 1/2oz inline weight and then my jig.
The rod performs flawlessly, has caught many fish over the last 2 months and is very sensitive if needing to switch to driftgear. $39.95. Bobs in Longview

Re: 10\'6" Bobber / Jig Rod
I have a shimano convergence 10.5' rod for 8-17 lb line. I am not all that impressed with it. It is a heavy rod and doesn't ballance well in my opinion, but has great feel. I used it primarily for kings. I have a 10.5' Dave Vedder Lamiglas and it is very nice, just a bit spendy.

Re: 10\'6" Bobber / Jig Rod
I love my 10'6" loomis for bobber fishing... loomis makes a nice rod no question, but if I were to do it over again I don't think it was nessesary to spend the money I did.

Re: 10\'6" Bobber / Jig Rod
the problem w/ the convergence rod in the 8-17 pound range is that it's actually a mooching rod w/ a very slow action to it. I own one and have had a very hard time on steelhead getting the fish solidly hooked.
Try to find a rod that has medium-heavy action....that should help you.

Re: 10\'6" Bobber / Jig Rod
There is a 10'6 float fishing rod on sale at fishermans marine for around $85 ( reg. $129 i think) It looked pretty nice! I can't remember the brand though. Hope this helps, good luck.
