Default Youth Fishing Fair

Saturday, April 14 the Tualatin Valley Chapter of NW Steelheaders would like to invite kids and parents out to their 2nd annual Youth Fishing Fair. The event runs from 10am-4pm at Hillsboro High School (3285 SE Rood Bridge Road, Hillsboro). Activities include "how to" seminars,,"hands on" demonstrations" and doorprizes given periodically throughout the day. Best of all, the event is inside and FREE !!!! I thought I would bring this to the top so everyone can read it again. Last year I was involed with this group of Steelheaders at this function. They put on a first class show for the youth in the community! I will be helping again this year, and challenge all of the ifish community to come out and help teach our youth what fishing is all about. I know we have a lot of quality fisherman on this site. Lets share some of our knowledge with these kids on 4/14/01. Contact the link and volunteer. I hope to see all of you there.

YES!
I will continue to post stuff about this too, and let's keep this thread lively and up to date.
Anyone willing to show up and help?
I am planning on bringing my kids!

Yeah the Oregon sports community is really stepping up to support this event. In the last two weeks - weve also had the Oregon Wildlife Heritage fund, Hanks, Maxima, and Allsport step up in support.

For details, look for our announcments running in the Hillsboro Argus, FG news times, and the Oregonian sports calendars next week.

bring a kid, grandkid, neighbor, friend - it was a blast last year and will be even better this year!

Jen were all kids at heart. It is obvious if you read some our posts. Being a kid at heart is a good thing. Most importantly when one kid teaches another how to fish.

If you are planning on attending and will be able to help out and have some fish pictures in a binder of album, bring it. Last year the kids loved looking as some of my pictures. Also, I think we still need some seminar speakers/teachers.. 15-30 min, demo , teaching or showing slmost any subject. Trout, crappie, salmon, steelhead, summers or winters, bass, shad, etc. bring some of your gear and just show what you do. Contact Grant , he's get bit in one of the above posts.
