Default Coastal report

im heading out to manzanita this week to stay at a friends beach house. I was thinking about tryin a little crabbing in nehalem bay. Would this be worth the effort? Also, if i was going to try my luck at getting a steelhead, could anyone give me any suggestions on where to go?

thanx for the help. -evan-

I don't know much about the crabbing but a three week old report said they were slaying them. The rivers are in good shape. Check your regs. I saw HustlerJims rig at the takeout today so he has the most current report for the North Fork. You only have one more day on that river. I think the South fork stays open and know of a +/- 19 pounder taken a week ago. You can alway search for sturgeon while your pots are out.

Good Luck

The Wilson for Steelies.
E mail Jim Erickson about crabbing on Nehalem Bay:
hustlerrjim@nehalemtel.net
He is very helpful and knows what is up down there.
You might want to try the South Fork Nehalem for steelies. Haven't heard a report though. Ask Jim.
