Starting a new business
Well "Fishinpox Productions" has been born. Decided I'm going to try and turn this video editing hobby into a little side work. I'll be doing video editing and transfering video. Right now I'm in the process of editing my first hunting video that will hopefully be ready for sale by summer. Hopefully I can make enough on the side to offset the costs of the other hobbies I enjoy. We will see. Wish me luck.

Re: Starting a new business
When you are turning these hobbies into a business, what is required? License?
Thanks!

Re: Starting a new business
I did not have to get a license since I am working out of my home and I am outside the city limits.

Re: Starting a new business
Congratulations on taking that big step.
My wife and I have been toying around with starting a video business as well. Focusing on filming, editting, DVD's, etc.
We'll do a wedding, anniversary, or party here and there, but don't really have much time beyond that.
Being parents of a toddler and volunteering our time to do 2 TV shows for our church keeps us pretty busy from doing our own thing.
Be sure to set your prices accordingly, video takes more time than people think. Don't short change yourself.
And as soon as possible, put together a demo reel and get a web presence.
I also see you have a post on craigslist. That should get you alot of exposure.

Re: Starting a new business
Thanks Scotty !!!
Fishinpox delivered the completed job to me last night !!
"Fishinpox Productions" transfered 50 some video cassettes to DVD's for me, now I have 40 some DVD's.
The film quaility was degrading so we thought we best transfer them over, the quaility is great, and the DVD's are for easyer to veiw and search.
Last night we watched a few old birthday partys, and many trips, and the kids really enjoy watching themselfs when they were little babys.
Thanks for delivery Scotty and your new business......Fishinpox Productions
