Default Where can I find...

a good fly fishing board with folks discussing trout on the flies?

Nothing personal, but this seems to be mostly steelhead, drift boating and coastal discussions...not really what I need.

At some point, when I start in on steelheading I'll probably be a regular, but for now, this isnt helpful to me.

Please let me know if you know of a good trout/fly fishing board.

Scott Richmond's page might be helpful to you. If not, you can find links from there!
Come back and visit us though, there are some fly guys around here, I think.
I'm learning more and more about fly fishing, but no expert at all.

Tex,
I'd try Jen's suggestion, however, don't discount the fly fisherman on this board. I for one am a complete fly nut. Bass, Trout, Salmon, Steelhead, I've even caught carp and catfish on the fly. I have also done some blue water flyfishing down in mexico. (hooked seven different species in one day and teased in a striped marlina. If you have any questions, give us a shot, furthermore, if you find a good local fly board that you really like let me know.

Thanks,

Tanner

Heck, Tanner's right! There are a lot of fly fishers on the board. My first steelhead was on a fly. Maybe most of us are a bit removed from the Central Oregon scene, but I'm sure there's somebody here who fishes that area.

Like some have already mentioned, there some good fly fishers here if you post the right questions.

I don't know where in Portland you live, but the Clackamas Flyfishers are a very active and knowledgable bunch. I'm not a member, but my neighbor is and I've been to a meeting or two. I really should join them.

Here's their info:

Clackamas Flyfishers
P.O. Box 268
West Linn, OR 97068
Contact: Jean Canfield, 503/625-6076
Meet: Third Tuesday at High Rocks Pub, Gladstone; optional dinner 6:00-7:00, program and meeting 7:00 p.m.
