Default Friday Fishing

Got this Friday off to go Springer hunting. No blood yet this year. Where would you spend your "boat time" if you had Friday off?

The pressure has been low on the Columbia. Oregon side is not producing fish as well as it should. Might have to do with the low river levels and lack of 'springer' current off of the wingdams and in the shallows. If you do fish the Columbia work close to the channel edges (more fall salmon territory). The Warrior Rock to Sand Island stretch is producing some fish.

The lower multnomah channel has fish. The bite is fairly consistant, but not smokin' hot. Either area would be a fair bet with both bait and persistence. Its well worth the trip...heck, I always just like the trip.

Good Luck

I'm going to try trolling a kwickfish in 10 to 15 feet depth during the early incoming (daylight-8:24) then tie up and fish the outgoing with the same setup till around noon. you can probably troll the outgoing till the 5:49 low. Unfortunatly I don't have all day . As far as location, any sandy bottom. I'm trying near the pilings that run the fish along the shore. This occurs at the north end of the channel, west of St. Helens on the Oregon side of the Columbia. and many other locations. Good Luck
