Drift Boat Trailers
I have a older 16 foot Alumaweld guide model drift boat that is in need of a new trailer. My current one has rusted out. Any suggestions on who to call? I know Stevens sells trailers but I would prefer not to buy from them.

Just bought a new 16GC from Brad down there, real nice crew, they handle the rouge trailer. Great torsion axle trailer!
Good luck!

Re: Drift Boat Trailers
b & c,
I'm in full agreement with willierower. I suggest getting ahold of a STS magazine and get the phone number for Baker trailers. That is what I would buy if I needed a new one.

Xtra Mile aluminum trailers 541.247.9145
I've used one for a year now, lightweight, very quiet, smooth torsion suspension. Low maint and no corrosion. Took it to Montana last year, almost forgot it was back there.

Re: Drift Boat Trailers
Ditto on the Xtra Mile trailers. If you're in for the long term, an aluminum trailer never rusts....you can scratch the galvanizing off a metal one.

Re: Drift Boat Trailers
The Xtra Mile trailers are sharp looking. Might be prettier than your boat. I believe they have some for viewing at the new Willie Dealer out on McLoughlin Blvd.

Re: Drift Boat Trailers
Baker builds a great trailer. Good looking, tough, and tows very nice. Mine is painted black (w/ good paint) and no rust. Your trailer (99% of the time) should not have to be in water past the hubs. That's what those big rollers are for! My .02

Re: Drift Boat Trailers
Thanks for the all info. I actually have found nine different dealers of boat trailers. In regards to the rust, the boat has spent the majority of the last 15 years in Cape Meares outside of Oregon. The salt air and use in the bay on the Oyster Factory side had done the damage. Also its the old box metal style so if H2O gets inside, its bad news.

Re: Drift Boat Trailers
One note on baker trailers. My Dad had one on his old sled and it rusted from the inside out. Yes we washed after use in salt. The water got inside the tubing through the lights and stayed in there. You could literally put your finger through the frame.
However he took the trailer to them and they replaced it with a $2000 galvanized trailer and only charged him $700. I’d buy a trailer from them in a minute. Well, A galvanized one anyway.
