Jennie, If you are coming to Utah (St. George) in June, you should come with us and fish Strawberry. We would catch some big cutts. St. George is only three hours from there. Let me know???

I'm planning on coming. Have it in works. It really depends on how early I can get off work to get down that way. But as of right now I'll have my cat down there.

Well, I was planning on being there, but that was before ifish scared away all the good fishermen.
If they decide to go, I will follow.

Re: Floatilla II, whos coming?
Parker,
There are still plenty of real good fisherman on this board. I apologize for not being up to your "steelhead elite" Washington standards, but I can definitely hold my own on any river.
SH69,
Are you bringing your 16' cat? I think I'm gonna be bringing mine. I think the water is probably gonna be a little low.

Re: Floatilla II, whos coming?
I agree with you Tanner and Artwo.
I see Parker is president of some fish ranch, with his attitude he must be a good president, he sounds like a few past bosses I have known.
Maybe he ought to start thinking for himself and quit following others. Since you are still here, I guess you must not be one of the good fisherman you refer to leaving.
What a crappy attitude you got Parker.

Re: Floatilla II, whos coming?
I would like to apologize for Parker's comments as I believe that he is upset with the fact that there are people leaving Ifish since the recent change of moderators. Nothing against Jennie and Bigstew, they do a great job and this is a great site, however, the reason I joined Ifish was because I look up to RT and his sense of humor makes posting fishing related issues fun! Sorry that some of it was considered offensive and there are a lot of other great fisherman with a wealth of knowledge to be shared on Ifish. There is more to fishing than just sharing knowledge, the best times on the water are had when fishing with good buddies who laugh and joke and talk about "the stock market"......the same things that "used" to be discussed here at Ifish. I would go completely nuts if I was forced to be serious all the time. I have a lot of tips and tricks to share with Ifishers, but I have a lot of jokes to share as well.
Please understand that us Washington guys are not "elitists" and we don't think that we are better than anybody else. Parker is a very nice guy that is just upset with what has been going on. I am admittedly upset as well and I have tried to maintain my composure which is sometimes difficult to do. Please don't generalize anything about my President of The Sauk Steelie Ranch as Parker is a conservationist and a lover of wild steelhead. He does a great deal to help preserve out dwindling wild fish stocks here in Washington. I am the CEO of the Sauk Ranch and I can tell you that we are just a bunch of hard-core fisherman who live, eat, and sleep fishing all the while trying to enhance and protect this great resource we call salmon and steelhead.
Another issue to address is that Parker and I don't want to get stuck fishing with a bunch of people caught in the middle of a rumor mill who might not welcome us as they would have before this trouble began. I am friends with several Washington members of this board that feel the same way. Granted that Parker's poor choice of words doesn't help making many friends and that's why I'm here to catch the flak and apologize on his behalf. Please understand the underlying issues concerning Parker's response and forgive him sice we all make mistakes.......we are human after all.
A big thank you to all the Ifishers.
Peace,
Justin
CEO, Sauk River Steelhead Ranch

Re: Floatilla II, whos coming?
SAUK,
I personally appreciate the kind words and I to am not beyond reactive statements such as I posted in the "The Steelhead King" post. I to share a certain amount of frustration with PAST events on this board but have made it a point to stay out of buisiness that is not mine. You guys (Parker included) are always welcome to come and fish with me in a respectable manner.
I would however have preferred the apology have come from Parker himself, it was a pretty lame statement.

Re: Floatilla II, whos coming?
Wow. Forget to add in a whinkey face or two and the next thing you know you're in hot water!
I apologize for forgetting to add in the cute little emoticans. My post was meant to be sarcastic and somewhat humorous.
I guess feelings on this board are running a little hot now, as I think quite a few of you blew up over nothing, especially my post.
I edited out my signature. In no way did my post relfect Vision Hooks or the Sauk River Steelhead Ranch. I apologize to Justin for having to make an apology for my actions.

Re: Floatilla II, whos coming?
The South is going to be low in June. Its an easy float, Nothing to get in trouble on if you have half clue how to row.
There should be lots of fish to terrorize. There will be plenty of steelhead and springers.
Ive been making it a point to stay out of all this immature ******** thats been going on. Things change, people move on. Its a fact of life. Get over it and move on. This BB is still a good place to share views, tips, stories, etc.
Now lets put an end to all the high school girl attitudes and get on with our lives.

Re: Floatilla II, whos coming?
Yeah, I'm in same boat as Parker and Justin. I was kind of deciding on whether I'd go. Not sure how I'd be viewed. I too would like to apologize. I always come to aid (or in this case defense) of people I'm friends of. I know RT alot better then Jen, I've known him longer. I just go out of my way for someone in trouble, and was trying to help RT by making a point. I'm sorry if I myself offended anyone, but I will stand behind what I believe in and what I have said.
Hey Tanner, if I'm there, I'll definitely will have my Aire, maybe even my Steelheader. Even my 16ft cat takes low water well. Hopefully by then I'll have my Os special frame by then.
I'll have my kids in my boat with me, so I'll be more "guiding" the kids then fishing. This will be a "fun" trip for me. When I hardcore fish I try not to take the kids. It's too hard to fish seriously when you're trying to help a 4 and 6 year old fish. So I'll be Daddy, but of course I'll wet a line......

Re: Floatilla II, whos coming?
To all involved in this thread and the Steelhead King thread please read my last post to that thread. Again Parker, Sorry, Things and tempers have been so hot on ifish lately I think some of it rubbed off on me.
SH69, I know what ya mean about kids and hardcore fishing, Give it time though bud. My 9 year old is to the point where he catches as many fish as I do and I hardly ever have to help him with his gear. He is my #1 fishin bud. Unfortunately, he won't be coming to the floatilla with me. I don't want to corrupt his innocense with all these ifish people, especially if Hey_Yall comes down

Re: Floatilla II, whos coming?
Shoot, I'm away from the board a little while and all hell breaks loose! Took me about three hours to catch up on the soap opera. Not making light of the real (original) conflict, just the peripheral stuff. Hey yall, you usually crack me up, but I was busting a gut when I read about how all of the "real fishermen" were going to take a hike from the BB. I'm still trying to figure out who is real, and who is fake . All in fun, of course.
I'll be at the floatilla, and have a spot for you, Ram. A Friday pre-floatilla drift is definitely in the cards, but I want to see how the fishing shapes up in May before deciding what exactly we'll do.

I'm making plans to be there as well. At this point I Don't know how full the boat will be but if I have a seat available I'll let ya know.
One other thought, with the apparent aluminum hatch coming off on the 2nd, I wonder if maybe sending some folks over the the North Santiam might not be a bad idea.
Thoughts?

Re: Floatilla II, whos coming?
Man, yesterday was a rough day. I posted my response in the morning and didn't get to check iFish until late in the afternoon. Boy, was I surprised to see the comments *and* not only that, but even got a thread started about me! Ooof.
Let me start from scratch.
I will attend the floatilla if Justin goes - since he has the boat. If he doesn't go, I'd attend but only if I could find a spot in someone's boat. It's a couple of months away, so it's something I won't worry about until later.

Re: Floatilla II, whos coming?
WW, I hope to be able to go along. I have a tentative invite from bud Gary Till to ride in his Smokercraft driftboat if he's able to go. hehehe. Aaah, neeeot a 'Smoker' . What other kind of d-boat could a guy with the moniker of 'Big Willie' row? If he isn't able to go I would be looking for an open driftboat seat with all my buddies that are going filled up for the Float (I sold mine, and only have a sled and cataraft). Hey Jeff, if we don't connect in a d-boat it might be fun for us to take my 2 seat cat and try to hook a 'seabiscuit tow' or 2 from some springers - yeehaw! ... And 'Yall, quit getting Parker's hopes up with that talk of spanking . - RT
