Default Inexpensive Ammo

I have the new cabelas gun catalog and I am looking at the bulk prices for pistol and rifle ammo. Does anyone have an online or local source that is comparable or less than cabelas? I am teaching my kids to shoot and plan to go through about 1000 rounds for each gun. I also want to reload the rifle brass but not the pistol. So I will also need reloading supplies as well if you have a source.

thanks

For bulk re-mfg ammo.....look online to folks like GeorgiaArms and other reloaders like them.
Buy brass only. I think steel cased ammo is hard on rifles and won't shoot it in anything I care about.

MidwayUSA, Natchez & Midsouth are all good places to start for reloading equip and supplies.
Oh and Bi-Mart. Sorry GIJoes if you carried what we wanted...we'd buy it.

There are also some reloaders here in Oregon as well......4C Ammunition??? comes to mind.
Hope this helps,

I know I'm a horrible person for mentioning it but Walmart has the right priced ammo for most calibers on the college student budget. Make sure it is a good price there though. The two local shops sometimes have cheaper ammo in certain calibers. However I just started reloading for .45 acp and it is half the price(and I could go lower). What calibers are you shooting with?

Might try the outdoorsportsman store in Salem. They deal in bulk.

A website you should look at is ammoman.com which sells mainly in bulk. One thing that is great about this website is FREE Shipping.

I've bought from Ammoman; He's OK; make sure product is in stock.
Dan's ammo is another great place(Falparts).
CopesDist is a good place to keep an eye on...30-06,,,192/$70 +$7.95 S&H ?????
I don't know if that is a good deal but I've gotten good service from them in the past.

I posted about the excellent selection and pricing of surplusammo.com at the WAC gunshow at Monroe, WA, and I believe Puyallup, WA.
They are somewhere near Chehalis.
Never used their shipping.
Outdoormarksman.com is also at the show and has bulk 45ACP 230gr tmj 500rnds in an ammo can for $89 they swear is reloaded, once-fired brass in the US.
Pretty good deal if you don't care about headstamps and reloading.
I've not shot any but it seems pretty straight.
They have a (503) area code.
Hope this helps.

I will second Midsouth and Natchezz Shooters Supply. They both have good sales from time to time.

Don't forget to check Sportsman's Warehouse too.
