it might be a little more than an hour but get him to take you to e.e wilson for some rabits, there are alot there and you can usuallly get someone to run them with their dog if you dont have any.

That would be my suggestion also, or Sauvie Island Wildlife Area. Unfortunately, rabbit season at E.E. Wilson ends on Feb. 28. I don't think you can hunt much at Sauvie's right now either. Your best bet might be to just walk some old logging roads behind closed gates (where permissable), at the very least you'll be scouting for other animals later in the season. Good luck...

Go the Gun Club route.
Shoot all you want; with others that love shooting all they want.
You can't get it any better than that.
What's the gun club in Sherwood? Tricity? Family memberships?

Hey Kodiak,

Not to get off topic about small game hunting, but since you're a member of tri-county have you tried doing any of the competitions? There are all kinds of matches on the weekends. I too like hunting of all kinds but I also enjoy shooting the High Power and old bolt matches when I can't take the trip to go hunting.

They have clinics a few times a year were you just show up and they provide everything you need including instruction; a garand, ammo, and targets for around $20 bucks. The competition makes it much more fun than just punching paper.

If you have a shotgun, trap and skeet is fun too on Tuesday nights and Sundays. That can get expensive, but not much more than loading for a 375H&H I imagine.

Two Gun Club Events I totally enjoyed were running deer(4X8' plywood target pulled across the range at 128yds.) and the lever gun siluettes.
