Default Remove Corrosion from Reel ...

Recovered a nice Penn, older Long Beach model, someone had replaced the original spindle with a plastic one but there is quite a bit of greening corrosion on the base and some on the pillars - any suggestions what I might use with elbow grease to remove ? Thanks.

for really tough salt intrution soak in vinager. Caution, soak for a few minutes and watch the componenets...if there are chrome parts a 1 hour soak will remove the chrome. Try the brass brush first.

I hope you mean ss wool as the iron deposits will start to rust again rite away. Also since I started using products like Corossion X which I learned about, here on this forum, I don't have near the problems.

Thanks to those who pass on Valuable information.
