Re: BOE
It has been really really slow at OC in the morning. I dont think I could buy a springer with a couple crisp hundred dollar bills.
It has been so bad I took yesterday off. Today I saw one guy caught a steelhead up near the falls and another guy released a full fin springer between the OC bridge and the 205 bridge. A dozen + boats in the area fishing this morning.
When leaving for work at the dock I watched a guy having a rough start. First he tries to back his boat into the water and hold a bow rope up to the pickup window. He gets the boat floating but has his rear tire on the bow rope. The cross current at Clackamette is pushing the boat sideways and it is anchored to the rear tire. He backs up a little more and gets the rope free and has the rope wrapped around the jack on the tongue of the trailer. His knee boots allowed him to get on the tongue of the trailer in about 12 - 15 inches of water. As he goes to hop off the tongue towards the ramp, he gets his feet tangled in the rope and lands in the water. I gave him a 9.9 for effort, and a 10 for artistic ability. The entry was a little rough considering he was face first horizontal in the water. As I was leaving he was trying to get the boat back on the trailer so he could go home and change into dry clothes.
I dont know why that made me feel better about my skunked morning trip, but it did.
