I was curious if anyone else has tried Tyger Leader. For those that have not heard of it, it is a stainless steel leader that is nylon coated. The difference between this and other coated leaders is that you just tie regular knots just like you would with monofilament. The stuff is not cheap, about $25 for 30ft of 50lb.

I use it mostly when I'm targeting ling cod. You can pull large lings out of the rocks without getting cut off, well at least most of the time. A short piece (2-3') is usually all you need.

I have been very pleased with Tyger leader. You might want to give it a try.

Can you pick this stuff up at most sporting goods stores? I want some for lings also, last year I broke a few off that I would of like to have seen.

I have not seen it around locally. A buddy turned me on to it. You can buy it direct at their online store or several other places. Just Google it and you should find what you need.

The TUNA store Charkbait carries it I haven't used it before but a few guys on the long range trips use it and like it.

I bought some before the last trip south and it's easy to work with...but no toothy critters bit it to know how well it will hold up.
