Default Virginity Lost....

Where to start telling the tale of the perfect weekend? My soulmate, "Rain", won a guided driftboat trip at the ODFW "Becoming an Outdoorswoman" seminar last Oct. She is also a Coastie, and will be headed for, SERIOUSLY, the North Pole in a month, onboard the cutter Healy. So, we set up to take this trip with John Gross, of Roaringfork Guide service. He suggests trout on the Mckensie....but at the last minute, it looks like a go for steelies!!!! Our first driftboat trip!!! I worked charters out of SoCal for several years, and John TRULY impressed me! Anywho, we fished all morning with nothing but a one salt hatchery fish. Then, baiting a hole he liked, he stung a GOOD one!!!! Rod passed to Rain...and a 100 yd release!! . We were ALL sick...as one fish per boat was the report. John kicked it up a notch! 2 hours later, we came into a drift that John said he always thought looked fishy, but had never caught a fish. Yep, you guessed it!!! MAJOR takedown....and Rain landed her first steelie...20+ pounds!!!!! AWESOME!!!! (and yes, it is now "Elsa's Hole"!!!!). No good pics of that fish....as he was being tailed he popped off on the bank..beautiful nate!!! So we continue the drift...and come down to the take out. John is telling the story of a past client that hooked a fish in the 9th with two strikes....when the rod buries!!!! Almost dark, and I'm onto a HAWG!!!! Another 20 lb Nate....duly landed and photo'd!!! Yes, Rain's was BIGGER...but what a perfect day!!!! Thank's, John....

What a great story!
I wish you had a picture!
I love it when women catch fish!
