I got this e mail from the guy at the link on the front page of ifish. The tide predictor. Nice guy! Yes, I want to learn why there is a one hour difference!

Hello,
We at
www.saltwatertides.com have been very happy with the linking of your
site to our site for tide predictions. You literally send about 5 people to
us on average per day.
Thus when we came across in our referral log the bulletin board messages
about the tide prediction time differences we became concerned.
At our site, if you pick Astoria (Tongue Point), Oreg,
www.saltwatertides.com/dynamic.dir/oregonsites.html, a month, start date and
total days, you will get tide predictions which match those from NOAA. NOAA
is the basic source for all tide information in the US (and elsewhere). We
compared our predictions to NOAA's and found a perfect match. Please note
that we have a tide site for Knappa, Knappa Slough also at our site.
We checked the other site you listed and found that their predictions also
matched NOAA's.
There is another item that could account for tide time differences of 1 hour.
Daylight savings time kicks in on the first Sunday of April. Our site
automatically makes corrections for the time change.
We are willing to help you understand where the difference in tide prediction
times comes from but will need to know more, in particular for what month and
start date did you try to get tide predictions for?
