Default fishing reels

a freind of mine and I were fishing the other day and I noticed he had to cast extremely hard to get any distance,
after checking his magnets the reel still was hard to cast.
Taking it apart at home I cleaned the reel and oiled the ends of the spindles on the spool with a drop of diesel.
Problem solved -the reel now castes like a feather.
so- if the parts turn when you cast -use diesel ,if they turn when you turn the handles use a heavier oil on every thing but the spindles.
just thought ide pass this on
