Plenty of places to get a good rod. The Berkeley IM7 "Buzz Ramsey" rod is an excellent choice for the money at $79.99 at the local Bi-Mart here in Hillsboro. What kind of action do you want? Line size rating? spinning or casting? There are a lot of very knowledgable anglers on this BB so let's hear some opinions.

Check with GI Joes. They had the Lamiglass 1000 series on sale for $99.00 and the 500 series for $89.00. Lots of rods to choose from in different line capabilities. Hard to beat the Lami!

Preferably casting because I have an extra reel for a casting rod. I really dont have a preference on the action.

The North River series at Fisherman's Marine is very hard to beat at about $80. If anything happens to it, they hand you a new one on the spot. My kind of guarantee!

Fishon~ E~mail me if you want a Loomis. I have a connection and buy all my rods @ 40% off retail. I also know a local rod wrapper who builds Custom Loomis very reasonable. Hope this helps. I got a rod for mark and he loves his.~John
