Default Props to Sportsmen's!

Because my house has always been a couple block from Joes, I've been a long time supporter. However, I bought a new house, and the new Sportsmen's moved in a couple blocks from there, so I've been frequenting it.

I know they've taken a lot of heat for having unknowledgable and "cut-rate" employees in the past. However, I just wanted to pop up here and say that I haven't talked to anyone at the gun counter over several trips that didn't have a ton of knowledge and expertise about guns. So, good on them!

Thats good to hear.

I cant say my encounter with the gun counter crew has ever bean the same as yours but my two encounters involved new fangled shotguns or old fangled muzzleloaders.

I do like the store but get a little miffed at thier "all stores carry the same inventory" buisness model that often means some of the inventory has no relation to local uses.

Overall its a good place to visit.

I posted this a couple day's ago----for what it's worth--
Bought some rings and bases from Sportsman's a month or more ago. Finally got around to mounting them on my pea shooter Fri Nite. I lapped the rings mounted the scope and screwed everything down. Stuck in the Laser Lite @ 25'. Result--point of impact was 6" above target. Screwed out vertical turret screw to it's limit to obtain zero. -Not good--- At this point I"m in denial. Can't believe rings/bases are not correct for pea shooter. After using site rite, shooting specific target for my loads (from software) It just confirmed the problem. Front or rear base were not on the same plane.
Took everthing back to Sportsman's. They found the right set of bases and installed. Gave me a credit for the wrong rings, bases. Most friendly helpful bunch, I might add. They made sure i was happy with the install. Bought some lens caps and walked out the door with some cash!
If they expect me to advertise for them because of this well???????
