enouph or to much anchor?

I have an 18' alluminum boat and i am setting up an anchoring sytem with puller and all, My question is i have a 22 lb anchor , seems like it would be a little much, quite bulky. Can i get away with a smaller one with more chain, say a 15 lber, its a closed bow boat with a day cabin and i want to be able to anchor from the vent on the top of the bow.

You have what you need and I would not go smaller. You might even find that you will need 10' of chain in some cases.

I use a 22# rocking chair style anchor and six feet of chain on my 17' and I would not go lighter

Thanks guys , i think i will stick with this one ,its a rocking chair style 22 lbs, made from 2'' tube, gonna fabricate a holder

I would go with as much as you are comfortable with,nothing worse than not being able to hold in fast water and watch fish get caught out in it.
