Default 240 Merc SJ....spark plugs??
Don't have my manual handy, and boat is up in the shop; can anyone tell me the reccomended spark plug for the 240 SJ? (2004)

Buy them at napa or Carquest etc.Lots cheaper than marine parts stores

BPZ8HS10-I change mine every 50hours. Seems that one of them will go dead about that time. Pretty cheap insurance when you are 25 miles from a road.

Use only what Mercury says to use. The 240 WILL not run with any other plug.
We tried a hotter plug in the race boat, it would fire then die. We put the right ones back in, and she ran like a top.
