Default Trim tabs

We need to purchase trim tabs for our 20' glass boat. I have read all about the following 3 manufacturers. Bennett, Trim Master and Lenco Marine. So far, the Lenco looks like a great product. Have any of you has any experience with them? Thanks in advance for any replies.

Auntym, I too will be getting tabs soon. I just visited the Lenco web site, and they look pretty good. I've also visited the Bennett site, and they aren't bad either. Just wondering if you have any pricing info. to share with me on the Lenco brand? Or do you know of a dealer in the area? I will contact you should I hear any pros or cons. Thanks for any info. you may have.

Finn-icky,

They were closed when we tried to call for dealer locations so we will try again tomorrow. Pricing info can be found at

LencoMarine

You should be able to order through them though. I'll let you know what we find out.

Check out this sight: WWW.boatered.com

It is probably the best boating sight I have found. It is more of a general boating site, based on the east coast. They don't seem to have much Jet Boat or Aluminum boat advice,
but you can't beat it for information.
It is broken down into several forums.
Such as:
Ask the Captain
Engines
Fabrication and detailing
ETC
Use the search engine and I am sure you will find what you want.

My two cents:
Go with the Bennets. More whiz-bang trim tab control add-on stuff and a VERY established company.

I have looked at the Lenco Tabs and their main attraction to me is they are electric and it seems they might be easier to install.

Check out www.powerboat-reports.com
They did a comparison on all the trim tabs a couple of months ago. Bennet, Lenco and a few others. You can purchase that article for about 10 bucks or so. They like the Bennet Trim Tabs the best, with Lenco a close second.

Also, if you are going to do a new installation yourself, check out www.shipshapetv.com. One of their videos (not free-you have to buy it) deals with Trim Tab installation.

Mike

We decided on the Bennett Trim Tabs because of the ease of obtaining parts and service and a decent price at http://www.boatfix.com/default.asp
Finn-icky is right, you ARE nice
