Productive Fly Fishing spots???

Looking to go out for the day with a buddy to do some fly fishing (trout, white fish, etc). Wondering if anyone could give me the skinny on what's productive right now. We are in Portland, but dont mind driving a few hours to get somewhere good.

Best bets are:
1. Deschutes near Maupin
2. Crooked River below Bowman Dam
3. lower McKenzie

The Deschutes is probably the best river trout fishing in Oregon, but a bit intimidating. Big, fast river.

If you have a driftboat the Willamette from junction City to Harrisburg is where I would be.
The March Brown and BWO's should be hatching.
Ive heard some good reports about that stretch of river in the last few days.

This time of year I would (and will be on sunday) go to the Deschutes. It is fishing real good, the crooked is too far and not fishing as good. And I think you need a boat to fish the lower Mac. This time of the year 90% of my fishing is deep but there are hatches every day. Good luck.
