Looking for a firearm
Does anyone have any good websites or contacts for finding a specific firearm?
I am looking for a Savage Striker in .308 WIN or .300 WSM. Will possibly go to a .270 but doubt it. Needs to be able to bring down an elk and bear.
I have tried gunbroker, auction arms, gundealers gunsamerica and every other one I can find. I have found a total of 3 in the nation. One was sold. I am talking to another guy in N.C. but he has a local that is interested. The 3rd is a guy that is selling 6 of them in different calibers and will not separate the lot. He is asking WAAAAYYYY too much anyways. He is asking $5000 for 6 of them. $833 a piece with no scopes. All the others I have seen go for between $500 and $600 with scopes.
Anyways. Help me out.

Re: Looking for a firearm
Look for there 30.00 bucks off on centerfire rifles, not a bad deal.

Sorry. Should have been more specific. The Striker is a Pistol. Not looking for another rifle. This will be my back country hunt gun.

Re: Looking for a firearm
That's the one. I have called or emailed every shop I could find in Oregon. I think I have found a couple at a place in SW Washington.

Re: Looking for a firearm
2LEYS,
How about a TC? I think they are a little easier to reload than single shot bolts.
Is the Striker a repeater or single shot?
How about a MRI BFR 45/70?...it'll shoot .410 shotshells as well. I think...doesn't it?
And then their is the MRI Lone Eagle.

Re: Looking for a firearm
The striker is a bolt action that can hold 2 plus one in the chamber. The bolt is also on the left hand side of the gun so you can work the bolt without switching hands. All the other handguns have the bolt on the right side so you have to switch hands to reload.
The guy I am buying it from says he hits prarie dogs at 500+ yards. Even if he exagerates his number by double that is still 250+ yards. Very accurate gun.
The action is directly over your hand instead of forward increasing stability and directing the recoil backwards like a rifle instead of upwards like a handgun.
This is the gun I want.

Re: Looking for a firearm
Weatherby is still making the CFP(compact firing platform); largest cal. is a 7mm-08(5+1) and very spendy but does have the 54degree bolt lift.
Not what you're looking for I know, it's listed under Mark V rifles.
