Re: CHECK OUT FISHERMANS SHACK!!!!!!
Good to hear Don and the Fisherman's Shack are still around. I used to stop in there regularily while at OSU in the late 80's, and always enjoyed my conversations with him. At the time that was about the only place I could find decent spinner components, and of course he always had some nice rods in stock. I'm glad there are still folks contributing to small business owners in the tackle business.

Re: CHECK OUT FISHERMANS SHACK!!!!!!
I fish spinners A LOT for winter steelhead, and I will tell you that **************'s .032" silver plate and gold plated french blades (with the little plunking shack on them) are better than Mor Tac and as good as or better than Pen Tac and less ecpensive than either. Their torpedo bodies are excellent too, but kinda pricey.

Re: CHECK OUT FISHERMANS SHACK!!!!!!
Don's a personal friend of mine and I'm glad there was an opening for him to get the type of advertisement that is available on ifish. The guy is a class act and is never to busy to help someone out with their questions about the type of fishing they are asking about. Timber

Re: CHECK OUT FISHERMANS SHACK!!!!!!
The service is top notch as well. I ordered some snap swivels on Christmas morning and had them that Saturday. Great product, pricing and service. Exactly what I've come to expect here at Ifish and a welcome addition.

Re: CHECK OUT FISHERMANS SHACK!!!!!!
I bought a bunch of spinner parts from him last year. Prices were great as was his service. I'll be a repeat customer for sure.

Re: CHECK OUT FISHERMANS SHACK!!!!!!
I just noticed this thread....I am another that has been buying from Don Greene for several years...the guy is an absolute class act. Freely gives information and is great to deal with. It pleases me to see him here on Ifish. For those of you who have never delt with Don you will not be dissapointed.
Congratulations Don and welcome home!

Re: CHECK OUT FISHERMANS SHACK!!!!!!
I too have recently discovered this place about 1 month ago. I have been getting really good deals on Silver and Gold plated Steel-Lee type spoons. Sofar all orders I've made have been shipped to me very quickly. The prices are awsome.

Re: CHECK OUT FISHERMANS SHACK!!!!!!
When I decide to build a custom Rod, I go see Don and he gets me everything I need. I have found that you can't deal with a nicer guy and If you want he will surely spend time sharing past experiences with you like an old friend. As long as he is in business I will always support his shop.

Re: CHECK OUT FISHERMANS SHACK!!!!!!
I made my first purchase at The Shack probably around 10 years ago, back when nobody else sold spinner parts. Aside from getting good quality products at reasonable prices, I appreciate being able to help support a local business/guy who in turn supports our local fisheries.

Re: CHECK OUT FISHERMANS SHACK!!!!!!
Ditto to everything mentioned here about Don and his Fisherman's Shack store. I have been a customer for over ten years and I have always been treated great with top quality products and prices that compete with the big boys. His service is top notch also. In fact he has been very helpful to me lately with a special order that he didn't stock, but was more than happy to help me get. Don is also just a great guy to talk to. Stop by his shop in Suver, just south of Monmouth, introduce yourself, talk some fishing, and pick up a catolog. You will be glad you did. You can order by phone too at 1-503-838-6395.

Re: CHECK OUT FISHERMANS SHACK!!!!!!
I too have been buying my spinner components from Don for about eight years. The service and the products are of the highest quality.
Hard to beat the slow spinning .032 french blade!! If your just starting out Don will always do his best to walk you through the whole building process, and give great recomendations on what works best!
Check out his website for product...and then place your order by calling him. Very pleasant to talk to!!
