Default Smokercraft ?

Looking for ideas on an anchor holder for the bow of a 15 foot Alaskan. Looked at a few places but the anchor mounts are to long for the bow. I looked at the Miller ones as well as the ones from motion marine. Anybody have an idea how to find one that works, I don't really like my anchor sitting on the front floor board knocking around while out on the water. Thanks for any help.

Standard 15 Alaskan? Have you thought about extending your bow area a little bit using diamond plate then mounting a standard holder on it? You'll need a vertical piece underneath for support but it might be a cheaper (and better) way to go with it.

I used to drape the anchore over the bow of my Lodge and it would scratch it up pretty good. When I bought my new boat it was polised and new so I didn't want to scratch it but it has the bow choke in the way of putting one of the nice anchore mounts on it. What I did that was cheap and easy at the time was I bought 2 of the rubber V shaped replacment things for boat trailers where the bow of the boat would bump in to the trailer and figuared out where the anchore would fit on the bow of my boat and bolted them down with 2 stainless bolts. It cost about $12.00 and took about 12 minutes to do. I have pics but can't post them. I hope that makes sense and I hope it helps.

Ray.

I fabricated an anchor rest similiar to the motion marine rest for my smokercraft, but I made it a little shorter. I used a piece of 4 inch square aluminum stock and got a roller that would fit on the inside. It works pretty good and mounted up to the front without modifying the bow, but I have been thinking of making the bow area a little bigger like ampersat suggested just to add a little strength.

Send me your e-mail addy and I will send you a picture of my current set up.
