It will depend on the the lake. Odell is the place where I have fished for them the deepest and that was 100 feet. Other lakes the kokanee don't seem to be found much below 80 feet. And I don't have much luck below 80 feet other than Odell. Often the biters will be between 20 and 50 feet in the lakes I fish.

The deepest I got Kokanee trolling was 85' at Green Peter Res. Now jigging that's a different story. Last year at Odell it was 120' to 130'. The very deepest was at Odell, it was 135'.
I found as a general rule, trolling that is, Paulina, I would start at 30', Odell would be 50', Wickiup, I usually fish that with lead core line, one to three colors depending on where I'm trolling at.

Where do you plan on fishing? Middle of the season at Merwin, we were successful at 90 - 100 feet (on the line counter) with 2oz of lead. The next weekend, we were getting them at 45 feet. Plan on going deep as the temps rise. Ask other fisherman on the lake. Most of the time, they are more than willing to tell you how many "pulls" they are at.
