Delta Divers
Hey all! Our local sporting goods store is wanting to start stocking Delta Divers, but they don't know where to find them. We're 300 miles from the salt water, so most flatlanders don't know where to look, but they sure work on the upper Columbia kings too. Does anyone know who manufactures the DD? Also, I've heard of a similar product called a EZ Diver. Any experiences with them would be appreciated. Never to early to get stocked up for Astoria!!!!

Re: Delta Divers
I want to say it is made in Clackamas, OR. I would call either Fisherman's Marine or GI Joe's here in Portland and ask them. They may even ship them to you if they don't have them online.

Re: Delta Divers
Thanks guys! I'll call Stevens, etc.
"Fishing is Life", I like the DD's better here at home, but if you hang up they don't float like a jet diver will after breaking off. They just seem to dive deeper/straighter than a jet diver imo.
I've always bought my Delta Divers @ Ilwaco or Astoria ("mountain prices" though), and there's no packaging or contact info on them at all. I've heard guys specificaly mention EZ's rather than the DD's so there must be a difference but I too would like to know.
Thanks again for helping a guy out.

Re: Delta Divers
the delta diver I'm thinking of, has a bubble on the back end and different depth setting adjustment holes, so when you put the boat in nuetral instead of it sinking, it slowly comes shallow, until you start trolling again. I usually run them on the second or third setting and fish it way back.

Re: Delta Divers
The eazy diver is like the old oregon diver, it resets iteself when given slack line. If you have ever fished a charter boat then you probably used eazy divers. (at least out of the columbia)

Re: Delta Divers
Hey Chinookin, the DD I know doesn't float when slacked, it acts more like your description of the EZ diver.
Pluggin', any idea who "the guy" is? It appears that alot of Lower Columbia locals interchange the DD and EZ's, so it reasons that they are very similar. Thanks for all the info. snit

Re: Delta Divers
IM SORRY I CANT REMEMBER HIS NAME.I WILL EMAIL YOU WHEN I REMEMBER.THE DELTAS DIVE ABOUT 1 1/2 PER PULL(from reel to guide)ez divers all weigh diferent.usally we use a 4oz ez that will dive 1 foot per pull.so if your in 27 feet you go 25 pulls,on the bottom for kings.make sure and change dacron leader every year, unless you want to loose that king.

Re: Delta Divers
snit, good to hear your'e a diver man too. They work and work! If you want access to hundreds of 'em call Dean the manager at Englund Marine in Newport 541.265.9275. I bet he has 3-4 dozen of the Deltas always hanging on the rack and a bunch of the EZ divers too. They have 7 stores I believe, and they buy hundreds and hundreds of them. They will mail, UPS or put them in "will call" for you for your next visit or have a friend P/U. Good luck!

Re: Delta Divers
Hey "C o", thanks for the phone number! I'll pass it on. It sounds like the EZ's are just like the Delta's. Here's to a "heavy net"!

Re: Delta Divers
Hey Snit,
If I'm not mistaken, EZ's and Deltas are made by the same Co.
I think the EZ's are adjustable, while the Deltas are not.
