NASCAR....hmmm......
I am tuned in and waiting for the GREEN FLAG!
Hey, I have a IFISH NASCAR fantasy league set up, if any other Ifishers want to play this season. If you're gonna watch most of the races anyways, why not join us?
It's really simple. PM for the password to join our IFISH NASCAR league!

Re: NASCAR Bud Shootout Today !!
Whats our bet going to be Rod Action?
My guy vs. yours.
Highest place finisher takes the prize.
I'll put up one of my new "07" edition springer spinners. What you got ?
And for what it's worth...... Bacon wrapped filet, sauteed portabella's, tossed green w Maytag blue cheese and a Argyle "Nut House" Piniot Noir tonight. After all it's the first race of the season.

Re: NASCAR Bud Shootout Today !!
It's just about to start! Bud shootout! Wooo Hoo!
I personally really like NASCAR. If you do, please consider joining us on Ifish for FUN!
I'll do my best to give you a 'simple' explanation of the Ifish Fantasy NASCAR league for 2007.
You choose 4 drivers each week to race on your team, from a stable of 8 drivers....That's it. For more, see below. If you want to play with us, PM me. I'll send you the password to join the Ifish NASCAR league. Here's the skinny below...
"You choose 8 drivers 'anytime before qualifying starts' each week. If you opt not to change drivers, you keep the previous weeks 8 drivers.
Then you select 4 of those 8 drivers to race on your team, for that weeks race. You can select those 4 drivers up until 5 minutes before the race starts.
You can add/remove drivers from your roster all season long. They lock up your 8 drivers before qualifying, then your final four choices are locked just before the start of the race. You basically choose a 'stable' of 8 drivers each week, and then pick your four 'racers' prior to the event starting.
But you need to know that you can only race a driver nine times in the 36 race season, so strategy does come into play!
The drivers are split into three groups, A, B, and C. You choose 2 from group A (premium drivers), 4 from group B (decent drivers), and 2 from group C (rookies, unknowns, startups, etc).
Everyone can use the entire driver roster all season. I.e., we could all use J.J. for any race at the same time. However, your 8 choices are hidden until after qualifying starts and teams(stables) are locked.
Any more questions, please ask!

Next 50 laps should be good unless we get the "big one"

Re: NASCAR Bud Shootout Today !!
A couple of take aways...
1 - Thought the Chevy camp looked strong.
2 - Dale Jr. drove about 5 miles further then all the other drivers by running the high line.
3 - Kasey Kahnes save with 23 to go was spectacular.
4 - Jeff Gordon was last
5 - Toyota doesn't stand a chance this year.
6 - Tony's pass on little Busch was classic.
7 - Hated to see the wreck on the last lap. Wanted to see what the rookie had for the leader.
8 - If they run the same Goodyear tire for the 500 there will be a plethora of wrecks. Those cars were loose!
Fun race to watch.

Re: NASCAR Bud Shootout Today !!
...And so it begins .....Pearl, that 'bout sums it up ....
I thought all the makes ran well tonight . Toyota showed that they can really move through the pack
The high line ran fast there for a bit , but the i think the distance of the race kept that from being the place to be... 4 fresh tires down low won.
That was a heck of a save by the 9 car.
RodAction "saw the future" !!! The Bud cars front end pressed against the wall
Watch that rookie in the ford ...he's got stuff.
The twenty bump doesn't hurt so much when it's a Busch bumper.
So Bring It !!! Spring Time = Steelhead , Springers and Nascar 2007

TRUE!
So when I put my boat back in the slip this afternoon and was talking to the Coast Guard it went something like this.......
In a Southern drawl -----
" Well, The ole Lamiglas, Owner, Abu Garcia, Jack Daniels old #7 NorthRiver fished pretty good today. I really hate it for the guys back at the shop that we didn't land any fish. They worked so dang hard over the winter brining herring and tying mooching rigs and they deserved a better finish to the day. My hats off the those Hillbilly's in the beat to crap P14 fiberglass boat that did land a 21 pounder. They come to fish hard every weekend and deserved their victory. We will be back next weekend on the Nestucca where we tested well last month and have a history of strong fishing finishes".
Pearl out

Re: NASCAR Bud Shootout Today !!
I only watched the last 30 or so laps so...
I was bummed to see the #24 last.
I was ticked off #20 won.
Great save by Busch
Jr. didn't win
Again, Jr wrecks out car's with a bump draft in a corner.
Glad to see nobody got hurt with Jr's mistake.
Can't wait to see #24 and #48 dominate the first race of the season.

Where was Mark ? Driving a chevy for the US Army ...I hope he can get in a groove with the new deal and win a race or two. He ran up front a bit tonight but settled back and found his "comfy" spot in the middle some where. What's new
Didn't hurt my feelings when Jeffs electronics shorted Ahh well, at least last wasn't 43rd !!!
Pearl , that's classic ...felt the same way as i pushed swampy back in the geerarge today ...well , I was hoping for a better finish , but we'll make some adjustments and get back out there next week
swampy out

Good to see Ifish have a NASCAR fan base!!
Mark Martin apparently switched his #6 to #1...
Dang, Kevin Harvick changed again to another sponsor...Shell Oil.
I'm hoping our local guy, Greg Biffle will do good.

Re: NASCAR Bud Shootout Today !!
Apparently, with the upcoming cap by NASCAR on the number of teams one owner can have, and due to sponser demands. Roush did not have a part time ride for Mark.
He went over to Ginn Racing (drivers Nemacheck and Marlin) to run a limited schedule (22 races) sharing the car with a rookie on the races he won't be running. I think part of this was to help them with their chassis program and rookie driver training. He took over Nemachecks ride (Army car) and Joe will be in a new ride this year. The first race he will be sitting out is the spring Bristol race. It's very weird to see him in a Chev let alone the 01......

Here's the link to the official Ifish NASCAR Fantasy Racing thread. So far, we have seventeen teams (ifishers), and lots of room for more NASCAR fans to join us. All in good fun! PM me, and be sure to read this thread...

Re: NASCAR Bud Shootout Today !!
The duels where today, I did not get to see them
Duel #1
1st was some guy named Tony, in a orange car.
2nd was Mr. Dale Earnhardt jr, in the Bud #8 Chevrolet...fast, very fast !
Duel #2
1st Jeff Gordon
2nd Kurt Busch
And this, Michael Waltrip got the JET FUEL cleaned out of his Toyota Camry and still finished 9th in the 1st duel. JET FUEL ?

Re: NASCAR Bud Shootout Today !!
Here are some pictures from Bristol Motor Speedway acouple of years ago....what a really fun time.
I really think, this is the USA in one of it finest forms....this race is 160,000++ on inside plus well over that out side waiting for a glimps or sound, or smell....it is the best....
The pics arn't the best...this is the empty seats...
My wife on the track
This is Dale Jr. comming to hang out with us for a while (red hat and *** Dude tshirt)
Getting filled up...still daylight
Some guy that did not like airplanes
Blurrr of yellow flag
And last....the feild......and I can't be sure...but I think the pole car is the #8 Bubweiser Chevrolet, driver Dale Earnhardt Jr, thats just what I see, correct me if I'm wrong. Go Dale............
 Who is Tony ?
