Default Mouth of Wind update

Just drove to the mouth of the wind. 10 boats fishing and 6 bankies on the point. Two fish caught this morning. Went over to Wind River Resort where we keep our boat, saw a 25 pounder that was caught yesterday. The guys say that they are catching an average of 1 fish for each 4 boats daily, and they are running on the large side. It's beginning!

Thumper, thanks for the info. Even though getting there and getting in and out is a pain I'm really looking forward to that fishery.

Fished the Wind Sat and Sun. Approx 12 boats on Sat, saw 6 fish caught, including the one we caught. 1st Springer of the season! 18 pounds of beautiful silver. Skunked today. Approx 18 boats fishing, 1 or 2 caught. RAINED AND RAINED. Something must have been wrong, there was no wind! Can't wait to go back!

Actually you can escape the mob by mooring your boat at Wind River "Resort" just west of the boat launch. Don charges $150 per month (cash only) for a boat spot and an RV space. Not too bad when you compare that with competing with the mob at 4 AM.

Come to think of it, this is kinda amazing. The dam counts are less than 100 fish per day, and the guys are getting about a fish per every other boat or a bit less. Imagine at a few thousand fish per day.............

Thumper,
I agree! That's a good catch ratio for the number of fish over the dam
