Not in the Cowlitz either. Went up yesterday. We checked along West Side Highway in Longview all the way to the fairgrounds in Castle Rock. We did not see a single smelt dipped. Our net never hit the water.
I fished for three days straight in the Columbia and after two days of watching still live smelt swimming by my anchored boat i decided today to bring a small net...we took home 12 and fried them up as soon as we got home. YUMMIE ! This would also be a good idea if you planned to get them for bait too.....I'm not sure how long this "downriver" run will last but there are alot of them i couldn't reach.
