Re: How to get to Scapoose Bay launch ramp?
Chris,
From Sheridan it would probably be faster to work your way via back roads to Cornellius Pass than taking the long way around. If you are bent on using the freeways then it's not far from the St. Johns bridge, probably about 15 min or so. If you hit St. Helens you have gone too far.

Re: How to get to Scapoose Bay launch ramp?
TB,
Take 47 to until you get to TV hwy. Cross TV hwy and turn right on Martin Rd. Take a right at the first round-about, then do a 270 for a right turn at the next round-about. When you get to the stop light turn left and head to North Plains. Turn right at the Arco to get on to the Sunset Hwy (east) and then to Cornelius Pass. There are signs that point you to the launch on Hwy 30. You cant miss it. $3 launch fee.
I take Westside road in Mac and come out at Yamhill. That is the quickest way from our neck of the woods.
There is some road work on 26 westbound that has the hwy closed so getting home may be a challenge.
ROAD CLOSURE

Re: How to get to Scapoose Bay launch ramp?
Chris - Because of the 26 closure, when coming back, exit 26 at Glencoe Rd, then take Cornelius-Schefflin Rd all the way to Cornelius then right(west) on TV Hwy/OR8 to Forest Grove where you can pick up 47 again. Or you can take Verbort Rd from Corn-Schef and connect to 47 just north of Forest Grove. This will keep you out of the worst of the traffic in Washington County. "Cake".
Good luck on the gators too.

Re: How to get to Scapoose Bay launch ramp?
Tacklebuster, I am planning to launch at Scappose Bay on Friday morning and fish the channel. I hope to be at the ramp between 7:30 to 8:00. It would be nice to meet you. I will have my VHF on channel 68. Can't wait to catch some big gators!

How to get to Scapoose Bay launch ramp?
Looks like I'm going to meet a buddy of mine at Scapoose Bay to fish Friday. I am used to driving to Cathedral Park so how do you get to the Scapoose ramp from say Highway 30 at St. Johns bridge
How much further of a drive is it from St. Johns bridge?
Thanks.......

Re: How to get to Scapoose Bay launch ramp?
go out hiway 30 past scappose. when u get about 1 mile from st helens. you see a mexican resteraunt on the left and a sign indicating a boat launch on the right. turn right u should see a blue looking buildding. thats scappose bay marina.
when u put your boat in its about a 1/2 mile run out of the bay which put u into MC. turn left for the big C and right for channel fishing. follow the channel markers esp at low tide. that is nothing more then back wash water
warrior rock is out in the big C by the light house and the carrot crew fishes up the channel some

Re: How to get to Scapoose Bay launch ramp?
There will be a field full of cows to your right off the highway. If you look acrost it you should be able to see the store at the ramp. It has a blue roof. Good luck

Re: How to get to Scapoose Bay launch ramp?
Cornelious Pass down to hwy 30 which is a hop, skip and a jump to the launch. Maybe that is closer to your area. Then again..... Let me know how you do Chris.

Re: How to get to Scapoose Bay launch ramp?
Head North on Hwy #30. Between Scapoose and St. Helen's you will turn right on "BENNET" RD. Bennet Rd. is just past CHURCH Rd. Cross the tracks, take a left follow it to the EAGLE'S Lodge, Turn right. Until you run into the water. (My Husband used to live on Bennet Rd.)

Re: How to get to Scapoose Bay launch ramp?
my $.02... I have family in Sheridan and live in St Helens and have used both routes... imo sticking to the freeways is faster but depending on what time of day you are traveling, you might hit traffic comming through portland

Re: How to get to Scapoose Bay launch ramp?
Chris, we can get to hwy.30 over Corn. Pass from Yamhill in under 50 minutes. And it takes me about 30 minutes to get to Sheridan from here. Going as early as you will be in the morning, the traffic isn't all that bad. Hope this helps!!
