Default Getting jiggy with my fly vise

I tied up some various jigs that look real fishy to me. You can view them at this link

Let me know what you think.

Pretty cool lookin' jigs, Marty. Interesting designs and colors. I've been working on some traditional-styled jigs with a little extra added. What are you painting your jigs heads with? Thanks

I use lure coat to get the desired color then use rod wrap epoxy to cover the paint. To get a bright color on the head you need to have a white base first. Its a little more involved to get the color shades you want but I have lots of choices this way.
The saap splash is a powder painted head. I was having trouble getting good hooks on my jigs. I finally got a bunch of heads that are tough enough to take on steelhead.

Hey Marty, looks like you've been busy, and having fun as well, you've got some interesting patterns there, I like the look of the lady Di, nice choice in colors too.
hey, if you have any of that powder paint you dont want anymore, I'll buy it off of you
I also like the transparent effect that overcoat gives your jig heads. keep up the good work.

My tying style could use some work compared to yours. I don't think I am ready to give up on my powder paint yet. I like the bright colors and also like that pink sparkle you used on the jigs you made me... Got me wanting to find that color or imitate it. My jig tying is just a carry over from my fly tying past. Just playing

Wow, with all that flash and color they all look like something that a gaudy transvestite hooker would use

Your jigs look good. I tie for a small jig company and if you, or any one out there, want to tie for some fishing money e-mail me. We also have some great material for sale. It works like marabou but I think it is better and in great colors. You can buy it at fishermans marine supply in PDX in the steelhead jig section of the store, it is under the name Rainbow's End Fly Shop out of Kodiak. In the next few weeks I will post some pictures of the jigs and material.

I would be interested in seeing the material and available colors. Its a little to far for me to travel to see the selection so a picture would be great.
